REC Philly Partnering with AutoDesk to Drive Creative Strategy and Engagement with Gen Z & Millennial Creators in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – May 14, 2025 –Autodesk- one of the world’s leading Design and Make technology companies – partnered with REC Philly, Philadelphia’s premier creative agency, to deliver a campaign aimed at connecting with special effects and visual Gen-Z and Millennial creators in one of the nation’s most dynamic creative markets.

The campaign brings Autodesk’s creative tool Maya, a 3D animation and visual effects software, to life through a hands-on learning event, intimate community-building experiences, thought-provoking conversations with cultural tastemakers and exclusive access to Autodesk Maya for Philly’s rising talent. Through strategic planning, cultural insight, production and on-the-ground execution, REC will launch a tailored engagement plan to help Autodesk forge relationships and strengthen brand affinity with the next generation of artists, designers and creators in the Philadelphia metro area.

The partnership will focus on Autodesk Maya, a professional software for creating realistic characters and blockbuster worthy special effects. With Maya, users can bring believable characters to life with engaging animation tools, shape 3D objects and scenes with intuitive modeling tools and create realistic effects – from explosions to simulations. Maya is one of the many tools that Autodesk offers to design and make anything.

"Gen Z and Millennial audiences are redefining how brands show up—and they expect more than just ads; they want authenticity, creativity and connection,” said Dave Silver, Co-Founder & CEO of REC Philly. “Autodesk tapped REC Philly not just for our access to this community, but for our ability to strategically design and deliver experiences that resonate. From insight to execution, we help brands like Autodesk cut through the noise and build real, lasting relationships with the next generation of creators.”

REC’s campaign execution for Autodesk includes:

  • REC Session Workshop (May 22, 2025): A creator-led educational session hosted by game director and animation specialist Harvey Newman, in collaboration with Jumpbutton Studios. This hands-on workshop introduces Autodesk tools through an interactive experience tailored to the needs and interests of Gen Z and Millennial creatives.
  • Creator Dinner Session (May 23, 2025): An intimate, invite-only curated dinner at REC Studios will bring together influential voices from Philadelphia’s creative community and the Autodesk team to exchange ideas, discuss innovation, and foster deeper connections.
  • Software Integration & Creative Access: Autodesk’s Design and Make software will be integrated across REC Studios’ creative workstations for the duration of the workshop. Members who qualify will also receive free or discounted access to select tools, supporting continued learning and creative growth.

“We have a responsibility as a Design and Make technology company to equip the next generation with the skills they need to thrive in careers across the industries we serve,” said Kelley Myers, Head of Social & Influencer at Autodesk. “Our collaboration with REC Philly allows us to engage directly with creators, offering immersive, hands-on training with Autodesk Maya software. Together, we're not just teaching tools—we're helping the next generation reimagine how content is created and shape the future of storytelling through technology.”

From strategy to execution, REC Philly helps brands engage meaningfully within the creative communities shaping culture today—redefining how creators and brands will collaborate moving forward. Through this campaign, Autodesk will become deeply engrained in Philadelphia's creative community. By embedding their tools and values into purposeful programming and real-world access, REC positioned Autodesk as a trusted partner to the next generation of creative talent, allowing them to level up their content and tap into their creativity. It also provides Autodesk with the ability to connect more deeply with creators using their tools, as well as valuable insight into who is using Autodesk and the types of ways that work best when engaging with creators directly.
